Do I need to pay to be a part of A2E?

Nope. It’s completely free to register and use the site for professionals, educators and students. It’s important to us that we provide Access2Experience for everyone, regardless of their economic situation.





Is there a rating system for speakers?

No, there isn’t a rating system at this time.





Who can create an account for A2E?

If you are an advisor, educator, or a professional you can create an account. If you feel like you have valuable, career-based advice to give or have a learning group you’d like to invite a professional to speak at, you should make an account and get started.





How do I delete my account?

Click “My Profile” in the top right corner of the page, then click “Edit Profile,” then click “Delete Account”





Do I need to create a profile to submit a workplace experience?

Yes, you’ll need to create an Employer profile and post the experiences through that profile. Click the “Employer” tab and then click “Create an Employer Profile” to get started.





I accidentally signed up for a profile in the wrong location. How do I change my region?

This will eventually be a selectable field in the profile. In the meantime, though, email info@access2experience.com and we’ll take care of it for you.





How much personal information will be shown on my public profile?

As a professional, only educators and advisors will be able to see your name, job, industry, speaking times and the bio you provided. The only information about educators visible to professionals you’re reaching out to is your name, institution and the class you’re requesting for.




Educator/Advisor FAQs -



I created an account, but I don’t know what to do next.

You search for a speaker! Start by clicking the “Educators” tab and find the “Search for a Speaker” box on the left hand side of that page. You can search by industry, job type, keyword or all three. It’s pretty easy!





Can I just browse a list of professionals in my area?

Yeah, feel free to search by “any” industry, “any” job type and leave the keyword blank. You’ll get a list of all the professionals in our database for your area.





Can I request more than one speaker at a time?

Sure! There’s no limit on the number of professionals you can reach out to.





Can I offer a range of dates to a professional?

Yep. When reaching out, give them as much information about the class, dates and times as you’d like, or leave it as open-ended as possible if you’re flexible. If he or she accepts your invitation, all of the actual planning and scheduling is up to the two of you.





I can’t find the industry or career for the speaker I’m looking for, what should I do? How do I get it added?

We’re working on a process for adding industries and careers right now. In the meantime, please send an email to info@access2experience.com and we’ll add them manually at our discretion.





Can I view other teacher profiles to see who is on A2E?

Not at this time. If this is a feature you feel is vital to your A2E experience and you’d like to see it added, please let us know by emailing info@access2experience.com.




Professional/Employer FAQs -



I don’t see my industry or career in the menu, how do I get it added?

We’re working on a process for adding industries and careers right now. In the meantime, please send an email to info@access2experience.com and we’ll add them manually at our discretion.





I created an account, what do I do next?

You’re done for now! You can just relax and wait to be notified or you can check out our help section for a variety of tips on effective speaking.





How will I be notified if a teacher has requested me to speak in a classroom?

You’ll be notified via email to the account you registered with us. You’ll then need to log on to Access2Experience to accept or deny the request.





Can I respond to a request with ‘maybe’ or does it have to be yes or no?

When you accept a request, it’s not a done deal. You still have to work out the details of the visit. Accepting the request, then, isn’t a commitment, it’s an agreement to try and figure out a date and time that works for everyone. You’ll still need to formalize your plans with the educator.





I received a request and I want to accept, any advice?

You can be proactive or play hard to get! You can click “Accept” and leave it at that or you can use the text field on the left of the screen to start making plans. Either works!





Can I limit how many requests I want to receive a week?

As of now, no. If you feel like you are receiving too many requests, please let the site admin know by emailing info@access2experience.com.





Can I view other professional profiles to see who is on A2E?

Not at this time. If this is a feature you feel is vital to your A2E experience and you’d like to see it added, please let us know by emailing info@access2experience.com.




Student/Career Seeker FAQs -



I’m a student. Do I need to create an account to view workplace experiences and companies?

Nope, just click the “Students / Career Seekers” tab at the top and then click “View Experiences” to see what’s available!





I’m not sure where I’ll be living this summer. Can I look for workplace experiences in my hometown as well as where I go to college?

Sure, just switch back and forth between A2E regions with the drop down menu at the top-right of the screen, then click the “Students / Career Seekers” tab at the top and then click “View Experiences” to see what’s available in each area!





Can I filter by paying and non-paying workplace experiences?

Not at this time. If this is a feature you feel is vital to your A2E experience and you’d like to see it added, please let us know by emailing info@access2experience.com.




Employer FAQs -



Do I need to create a profile to submit information about my company?

Yes, but Company profiles are separate from Professional (speaker) profiles. To create a Company profile you need to use a different email address (possibly your general company email (i.e. info@YourCompany.com) than your Professional account (if you have one). You will be asked specific information (including your name so we know who set up the profile) and any pertinent company information.





I don’t see my industry in the menu, how do I get it added?

We’re working on a process for adding industries right now. In the meantime, please send an email to info@access2experience.com and we’ll add them manually at our discretion.





What if there are duplicate entries for my company? Will I be notified?

We’re still streamlining the process for dealing with duplicate entries. If you notice one, please notify the site administrator at info@access2experience.com and we’ll get to work fixing the problem.
